Inspired by JAMES BLUNT - Get To Know Singers and Musicians | Blondiepie.com
Ok for someone who is partnered in a music business, I'm ashamed to admit that sometimes I hear music and don't even know the name of the artists I'm hearing. It doesn't help the fact that mainstream radio stations doesn't announce before and after each song the band name or the artists name. But when I hear a song, and immediately love it I need to search that artists out. I need to hear more of their music, read their bios and get to know them.
I just recognized my slacking off on this when I went to James Blunts twitter feed. After reading some of them I immediately fell in love with his wit. That lead me to his facebook wall to get to know him better. Now I have heard James Blunt's name in passing but didn't know he sang " You Are Beautiful" and really thought he may be some singer, singing about getting high, hence don't judge a book by its cover.
As I write this I'm listening to his new music and it is truly refreshing to hear. Music is meant to make you feel, the music being produced today needs more inspiration, instead of well to put it straight ho's and bitches, money, and drugs. Ok I'll stop on that note, as this is more about getting to know the artists, that puts his or her heart into their music.
I am now an instant fan of His of his music and his Twitter feed, and hope he never changes what he sings about.
To show how much of a fan I am now selling his music here: BLONDIEPIE FULLY ENDORSES THE SALE OF JAMES BLUNT! Oh and Check out his twitter feed, its a riot. I'm glad he has the attitude he does. Some people are just rude, But he twists it to almost make fun of himself and them without causing pain to the person, not a bit of hate back. He truly is amazing.
Oh and I know I'm not the best blog writer so excuse if grammar or spelling is off. Just like passing the love, Baby.

Do You Really Want To Put More Money In Their Pockets?
Do You Really Want To Put More Money In Their Pockets?
Supporting the 1%
Yesterday, Jay-Z made it official concerning his much hyped launch into streaming digital media with his star studded entourage for TIDAL. After clearing up a few objections from minor shareholders, Jay-Z’s first major act after successfully buying WiMP and was later rebranded as TIDAL. Jay-Z has brought a lot of superstar power to attempt to make as big a splash as possible with Tidal. But, will Tidal be able to create the big splashes in the open oceans of music media or will it once again WiMP out and be just a small ripple in the pool?
Jay-Z's $56m WiMP TIDAL acquisition got him a streaming provider that actually lost 11% of its subscribers last year, of whom 77% are tied up in Telco bundles and that has a total global subscriber market share of about 1%. The TIDAL part of the company has just 6,000 subscribers.
Many of the stars on stage didn't seem very excited. In fact, most of them looked like they were there as merely puppets of the performance. It was almost like they knew something that the rest of us don't know. What we do know is that Jay-Z is shoveling bucket loads of money into TIDAL and most of that money is an attempt to add personality to the streaming service by adding a star studded cast of artists and even making them shareholders of the company.
TIDAL, who's beginnings started October of 2014, is NOT the "first ever artist owned global music entertainment platform" as Alica Keys stated in her speech. In fact, UNIR1® which started in 2011 is owned and operated by an independent artist that has a network of radio and television stations that are primarily owned and operated by several different independent artists and program directors, who also have the opportunity to become part of the company as affiliates.
It is apparent that many of the star studded cast will use TIDAL as their new launching pad for new releases. This will ultimately make the company a premium brand and put the star studded cast on a path to make even more money as the owners of TIDAL take a greedy 80% of the cut. You know, the 1% of the music industry that owns everything? Doesn't leave much room for change in this industry or the little guy trying to make ends meet.
It is unclear what TIDAL will do for independent artists if anything at all. What is clear is that Jay Z and the rest of the multi million dollar award winning cast of stars will gain even more money by pigging backing off a platform that has been in existence well before TIDAL and well before WiMP was even thought of.
Even more evident is that consumers will have to deal with yet another streaming service that plays the same saturated music that you hear everyday on Pandora, Spotify and all the way down to the FM dial. Although, TIDAL's claim is to create a better service and a better experience for both fans and artists, we notice that TIDAL really has nothing better to offer than what other streaming services have been attempting to create now for the past 8 years. Their are no apparent benefits for new and aspiring artists and really no solutions to fix any of the problems currently facing the music industry today. The benefits clearly are for the star studded share holders to capitalize on new releases of their music, and line their pockets with fresh revenue.
After (2) years of planning, one failure and coming into the game a bit late, it will be interesting to see if TIDAL can make enough waves with its star studded cast of share holders to achieve everything it "vaguely" says it is set out to do. Although this platform is clearly for the elite 1%, we welcome TIDAL to the streaming world of music. Jay Z and the rest of the stars will need a lot of luck in an already established and highly saturated market.
Of course, you know the old saying, "If you can't beat them, join them."

Maddy Engh – A Babe Of Her Own available on UNIR1 Records
Songwriter Madeleine (Maddy) Engh lives a country life on her small farm near Mission BC. The youngest of a large south Saskatchewan farming family (Belanger), Maddy wrote her first song at age 10 and has since composed over 300 ballads ranging from traditional country/bluegrass to inspirational. Well-known locally as the ‘Christmas Tree Lady’, Maddy’s life is reminiscent of her childhood, surrounded by farm animals and living off the land.
With such legendary musical influences as Hank Snow, Johnny and June Carter Cash, Loretta Lynn, Wilf Carter to name a few, Maddy’s songs are inspired by or tell stories of true life experiences and resonate what it really means to ‘be country’.
At age 77 Maddy signed her first recording contract and quoted “This is not for recognition, nor is it for fame and fortune – this is the realization of my dream to someday have my music recorded. I went into a studio, had some fun, and came out with an album.”
Over the past year Maddy has released several of her original songs, all produced in a studio, some performed by professional musicians, others in her own voice. Having launched a successful campaign with one song that reached #14 on the US National Airplay Top 50 Country Charts, this remix of the original ‘A Babe of Her Own’ is geared to be the next success story in Maddy’s repertoire.
Self-described as a ‘front porch plunker’, Maddy has never received payment for a performance or composition – she does it for the pure pleasure of sharing the gift of music with those she loves.

Chris Andres music on UNIR1 Radio
He started touring at the age of 15, when he used to go places and lighten the crowds with his exceptional singing skills. His aura and perfection cast a spell wherever he went, and he left an enchantment on the people that would not wither off. He was a rising star when he entered his twenties and several record companies were after him to get an album recorded with him. His popularity kept rising and more and more people were interested in his voice and his unique singing skills. People wanted to get in touch with Chris Andres as they saw him a potential of earning big.
All the traveling and touring had tired Chris and was starting to take its toll on his voice so Chris Andres decided to reserve his skills and adopt a different approach to things. He knew he had to play smart to survive in this competitive music industry and for that he developed his own methods. He has now his own perspective about music which he puts out and he reserves his voice in the way he sees befitting for his well-being. Chris Andres is a real authentic outlaw country sensation with influences like Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt, Bruce Springsteen and many more.
The secret to Chris Andres’ success is that he is true and honest to his art and respects it more than anything. He does his best to keep it real and that is what makes him get to the very top.

The Van Desh – Rock Group from Norrtälje, Sweden on UNIR1Radio.com
ive characters, five personalities, five styles, five experiences, five different ways, together as one… One band, one sound, one creation.
The Van Desh is all about rock! Melodic and interesting, groovy with a lot of joy!
The band was formed in late 2010 in Norrtälje, a small town about 70km from Stockholm, Sweden. It all started with a birthday party for a man who loved Jimi Hendrix. Lars got the mission to set up a “Hendrix Surprise” so he asked some friends. Lars, Tommy and Konny had earlier played together and Micke was jamming on and off with them. They rehearsed a couple of times, dressed up like hippies and played some old Hendrix songs at the party. They realized that they had great chemistry and decided to start a band, later Mårten joined them. They did their first gig together at a local bar under the name Haze, but soon changed it to THE VAN DESH!
The first single, Deathbed, was released in September 2012. Their debut album “It Reminds Me” was released 24:th of April 2014.

Still Raising Hell - Interview with Co Founder & Lead Singer of TROOPER - RA MCGUIRE
![]() |
| Canada's #1 Rock Band, TROOPER! |
The union between vocalist Ramon McGuire and guitarist Brian Smith in 1975 made a huge mark for Canadian Rock lovers and Party Rockers from around the world. Nearly 37 years later, Trooper is crisscrossing Canada on their most successful
tour ever - with shows from the PNE in Vancouver, to the Regina Ex, to
the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, to the Come Home Year festivities in St. Anthony Newfoundland!
It's no exaggeration to say that Trooper has become a Canadian legend.
They continue to perform their huge collection of hits with the vitality
and sense of humor that has served them well on their steady march
through the hills and valleys of Canadian Rock and Roll.
"We're Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time)", "Raise a Little Hell", "The Boys in the Bright White Sportscar", "Two For the Show", "Pretty Lady" "Good Ol' General Hand Grenade", "Round, Round We Go", "Santa Maria", "Janine" - just a few of the Trooper hits that have sold millions of records, sold-out shows across Canada, a Juno Award (Canada's Grammy) for Band of the Year, and several major endorsements including Universal Music's acknowledgement as "one of Canada's top five selling bands of all time" and the Vancouver Sun has called them "Canadian rock heroes of the first order ... the best performing band in Canada".
Apart from being the lead singer and co founder of Trooper,
Ra McGuire co-manages the band, and is the president of a record company (Great Pacific Records) and a publishing company (P.O.P. Publishing). Ra is currently under contract as an artist or songwriter with Universal Music, BMG Music, Warner Music, and Sony/ATV Publishing. He's also an active member of SOCAN, ACTRA, The Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists, AVLA and The American Federation of Musicians Local 145.

More recently he's become a best selling author (you can check out his book, "Here for a Good Time", here) and a national radio and TV personality - logging frequent appearances on the CBC as both host and guest.
The interview I had with Ra McGuire was great. He was kind enough to take the time to do it, and we are honored to have him and his bands legendary music a part of UNIR1 Radio! Ra and his band are a great example of what hard work, determination, lots of creation, time, sweat and a whole lot of rock n roll can achieve! Trooper is a band that has no limits which makes them a milestone in the music business.

The Economic Music Industry - UNIR1Radio.com
It has come to UNIR1's attention that the music industry is in some serious need of change. It seems that the current music industry model is that of the economics of a third world nation where the rich keep getting richer and the poor are growing more and more in numbers. What's worse is the the music industry glorifies the rich, while making it tougher for the poor to break out into the mainstream.
Artists and bands are left in the dark about the music industry by the same people who run the music industry. They won't tell you things unless you ask and even then the answers are very vague and ambiguous. The fine print in contracts become smaller and so does the education as well as recognition that an artist receives from his or her hard work.
The working middle class musician has disappeared as quickly as the A&R departments in major record labels. Pop up Pirates with no musical experience have now decided to become A&R Managers who do nothing for musicians except take their hard earned cash and deliver nothing in return.
Digital distribution has become something of a chaotic civil war where there is only one winner, the Digital Aggregate. They not only take your money for doing nothing, they convince artists and bands to become their marketeers to generate traffic to their sites.
The biggest economic gap is when artists upload their music to streaming services that play their music like a jukebox 19,000 times a year and at the end of the year receive .15¢ for a royalty payment in the mail. I know that if I personally received something like that, I'd be furious and I would tell all my band mates about it.
Many artists and bands that have high expectations going into their music careers are either disappointed or give up from mere frustration, lack of time and knowledge about the industry. It is a growing concern among many independent music industry leaders, who know that music is for life, that the time to mandate a positive change in the industry needs to come and we need to resurrect the working middle class musician.
UNIR1® has studied the current music industry model now for some time and has created a solution for the music businessman based on (7) decades of a stagnant non-conforming and very mysterious music industry model, (2) decade of artists and bands struggling with major record labels due to the lack of A&R supervision, and almost (5) years of artists and bands becoming part of the poverty class in the economics of the music industry while wasting money and time searching for a solution to change it.
Understanding and managing your music business finances and resources is the most essential part of industry responsibility. Musicians need to have a long term vision of growth and a focus on sustainability. UNIR1® understands that we are obligated to leverage our resources, revenue and talent pool to expand opportunities for musicians and provide a viable alternative to the existing music industry structure.
Our clearer success path is to empower an Independent Artist the opportunity to break out into the mainstream much quicker than if they were to do it the “traditional label route” and to educate them in all aspects of the music business so they can maintain 100% control of their musical careers while sustaining all facets of revenue streams generating into their business. UNIR1® shares it’s knowledge and its profits with all of its professional musical community.

Indie Artist Rachel Miller - New Jersey
We have some great music now in rotation from Independent Singer / Songwriter / Composer Rachel Miller from New Jersey on UNIR1 Radio

While learning the letters of the alphabet as a toddler, Rachel Miller also learned the notes of the scale. With her father in the industry, Rachel’s childhood revolved around music. She started on keyboard at two, guitar at three, and wrote her first song at seven. Throughout her early childhood, Rachel was exposed to a mixture of classic rock and contemporary pop. She sang what she heard, learning from her favorite artists.
As she grew, Rachel's love for music grew as well. She built upon early skills and taught herself how to play bass, ukulele, and piano.

LIVE Interview May 13th with Charlie Scott from Queens, NY on UNIR1Radio.com
Queens native, Charlie Scott, is living an intense life that could be likened to those of Keith Urban and Neil Young, not just musically, but also in regards to sobriety. Charlie says, “I developed a terrible addiction to drugs, which lasted until I was twenty-one, ultimately leading to my parents deeming me hopeless and putting me out onto the street. After sleeping in a local park for a couple of nights, I was humbled enough to give rehab a chance.”
Charlie’s music tells the story about the battle he fought with drugs, as well as his triumphant recovery. His voice is not only reminiscent of an early Slim Shady, he also has the same undefeated mindset and a similar life story as the Grammy-winning rapper Eminem, who detailed his struggles with addiction on his latest album, Recovery.
Charlie’s lyrics are relate-able, insatiable, and compelling. It is evident that he did not have an easy life. Raised by hearing-impaired parents, Charlie’s zealous array of mixed emotions is contained in his music. According to Charlie, the turning point in his career happened “when I was asked to write a goodbye letter to drugs, more specifically as he refers to it, Roxy-codon. I turned it into a powerful song; that was the turning point for how I write music and how I use it to help me as a person.” He has no regrets, though; in fact, he states, “I wouldn’t change a single thing if I could. I’m blessed to say that I haven’t made many mistakes, and all the ones I have, were turned into great learning experiences.”
His talent and one-of-a-kind style are combined in a rap package that’s easily understood, even by new listeners. You can literally devour all of his words while envisioning his story. “My goal is to educate, entertain, and inspire, while giving an in-depth look at what goes on in a mind that fires thoughts as rapidly as mine. This is my silence. It’s how I escape.”
Charlie’s album, Lyrical Therapy II, openly and honestly addresses his quest to empower others in a universally worded fashion. “You have absolutely nothing to lose. We’re all born, and we all die; the fun part is in between. Do what you love, and live without regrets.”
